    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist the General Manager in managing large scale Jatropha plantation including:
      • project planning (preferably in MS Projects)
      • timely implementation within the costs approved
      • monitoring the post implementation progress
    • Design a framework for outgrower model of plantation and implement the same
    • Manage day-to-day operations related to plantation including activities related to land, labour, materials, equipment, harvesting, crop maintenance, etc.
    • Assess yield potential, identify limitations and suggest practical improvement measures.
    • Support the General Manager in networking with key stakeholders and related institutions in relation to the implementation of the project.
    • Periodic reporting on KPIs to senior management on the progress of work and results.
    • Track the key assumptions for the project and continuously monitor different capex and opex variables.
    • Implement systems and processes required for large scale plantations.
    • Ensure sustainability criteria are met.
    • Other ad-hoc assignments.

    Key Skills/Requirements

    • The candidate must have an agriculture or related degree like forestry; a post graduate qualification in agriculture or business management will be an additional advantage.
    • 10 years of good track record and relevant experience in managing large scale plantation projects (at least 10,000 ha) preferably in a perennial crop.
    • Experience in managing outgrower farming model highly preferred.
    • Experience of working in Africa especially West Africa preferred.
    • Strong analytical and communication skills.
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
    • Willingness to stay near the plantation site (on site accommodation will be provided).
