    A reputable indigenous mine support service company based in Ghana is seeking the services of a well experienced Business Development Manager. The growing mining market constitutes a large downstream business in the geographical scope. The market is extremely volatile due to dependencies on prices, changing legislations and customer requirements. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for the following:

    General Activities

    • Represent the company at various trade shows, community and/or business meetings to promote the company.
    • Establish contact with prospective clients that meet targeted profiles. Visit prospects and communicate company capabilities aligned with customer value.
    • Identify, lead, and close sales that promote company visibility and growth serving customers in the mining industry vertical.
    • Investigate, propose solutions and opportunities for investment with special attention to new business.
    • Managing clients’ and internal stakeholders’ expectations in preparation of supply, installations take over and on boarding.
    • Participate in the design and implementation of innovative solutions jointly with the Strategy, Technical, Logistics, Procurement and Corporate Affairs.
    • Collaborate with the B2B Marketing Manager and develop marketing initiatives and campaigns that promote brand awareness and presence in the industry.
    • Proactively provide industry and market intelligence to the wider mining community as a subject matter expert point of reference for cross-functional colleagues.
    • Drive product and services development for our mining clients.
    • Drive innovative projects that improve customer experience, process efficiency and services.
    • Increase company listings as a supplier in the mining industry.
    • Coordinate both internal and external technical, legal and/or financial due diligence activities on specific business opportunities.

    Tenders and Contracts

    • Organize site visits prior to offer submission with internal stakeholders (supply, transport, engineering HSEQ and logistics).
    • Challenge and verify with internal stockholders input on feasibility costs and schedules.
    • Managing clients’ and internal stakeholders’ expectations in preparation of supply, installations take over and on boarding.
    • Construct profitable tailor-made offers for clients, also managing their expectations, TSA’s capabilities and internal stakeholder’s input.
    • Manage the internal validation process of offers as per company governance rules.
    • Provide input for budget planning on new volumes, operating income and CAPEX.
    • Negotiating, drafting and closing contracts in the interest of the company.


    • Deliver on budget commitments for business development.
    • Compile the post investment analysis for investments and projects reports.
    • Report on the profitability of contracts, investments and projects against the base line assumptions.
    • Participate in compiling budgets and long-term plans.

    Key Accounts Management

    • Develop strategic relationships with Mining Houses.
    • Recommend and promote Mining solutions key customers.
    • Support the Regional Sales Managers in developing and managing relationships with mining houses at head office level.
    • Ensure swift resolution of contract related queries at head office level.
    • Promote digital tools to clients and project manage implementation.


    • A bachelor degree in Business Administration or Engineering with 5 – 7years’ experience in the mining industry in a similar role.
    • Successful experience in technically complex new business acquisition.
    • A comprehensive excellent business acumen, negotiation, analytical and presentation skills.
    • A 5-6years successful track record in high value technically complex B2B sales at a level described within the opportunity scope section.
    • Sound understanding of analyzing and interpreting financial statements is essential.
    • Demonstrable success in leading high value technical proposals, bids and tenders.
    • A proven ability to successfully contribute to cross-functional virtual teams.
    • Effective utilization of sales pipeline management & CRM systems.
    • Financial and commercial acumen to construct high value complex proposals.
    • Intellectual capability required to understand and articulate how the company’s mining products and services match customer applications.
    • Personal ability to collaborate, lead and influence a diverse range of people including customers, partners and colleagues.
    • English as business language, French will be an added benefit.
    • Passion for working in a lean, fast-paced organization, and desire to own and refine key operational processes
