    When employers receive a lot of applications, they must come up with something to sort the pile and select the ones they want to look at more closely.  A neatly formatted resume makes it easy for the employer to find what they are looking for and make a decision on you quickly. If you don’t state it clearly, you may miss out.
    One trick for your next application is to read the job advert keeping in mind the specific things employers may be looking for– some particular work experience, minimum qualification, competency on some software etc. Then state those things in your CV and make them easy to find.
